HRCH Wellbeing Bus and HRCH Wellbeing Day

    WELCOME TO THE LINK GALLERY

The Link Gallery is an exhibition space designed to be easy to change content, and display a variety of images. There are 13 frames and it is most effective for displaying photographs or unframed art.

    Where is the Link Gallery?

The Link Gallery runs along the sloping corridor between Esher building and the Surgical Centre. It is a gallery space designed to benefit staff, who are the main contributors. It also improves the atmosphere of the hospital for all who work and visit there. Keep an eye out in the Global Bulletin for what exhibition is coming up next.

    Exhibition Schedule:

    • 9. June 24 - 'Black and White'
    • 10. September 24 – ‘Taken in London’
    • 11. December 24 – ‘Winter Scenes, Winter Themes’
    • 12. TBD

    Who can exhibit images?

Almost anyone!  We welcome creative ideas.  We want this to be an exhibition space that staff enjoy.  Why not get your ward or team colleagues to band together and create a mini-exhibition (you don’t have to fill all 13 frames).

Please download the ‘Exhibition Contributor Instructions’ document at the bottom of this page for more details on how to submit your contributions.

Please reach us at KHFT.STAFFWELLBEINGAPPOINTMENTS@NHS.NET if you would like to share you top wellbeing tip

To do or not to do. Making a to-do list is actually a very effective way to remind your brain of how many things you need to do in each timeframe and a clever way to feel rewarded for all that you have accomplished during the day. It is also a way of splitting up your daily tasks into 'urgent' and 'non urgent' so you can prioritise tasks accordingly and use the time you have at work efficiently. Set yourself a goal of completing your 'urgent' tasks in the morning and rewarding yourself later at lunch or in the evening.

    1. Move More. Most staff within the hospital are always on the move, but sometimes when staff have a lot of admin work to do, they are mostly based sat in front of a computer for long periods of time. This not only can make you more prone to headaches but can make you sluggish. Guidelines recommend moving for 10-15 minutes for every 45 minutes spent sitting. Moving more will help burn those extra calories, help you feel refreshed and who knows, you may even make a new friend on the way to Main Outpatients! The benefits of moving more are endless.

    1. Go have a cry in the crying corner. Tensions at work, at home, in our relationships, natural disasters can all have a negative impact in our day-to-day lives. In a work environment where it is our duty to help others (even on our worst days) it can be difficult to show empathy and do our best by putting them first. This is why it’s important to let go of these built-up emotions and troubling feelings by crying. Yes. Crying is a way of releasing all the built-up tension and when we let those tears flow, it tricks our brain into feeling better momentarily. This will then help us to tackle the issues with a clearer mind (not overwhelmed with emotions) later.

    1. Eat more Apples! We all have struggled with food choices at some point in our lives. If you suddenly have sugar cravings, instead of bingeing on chocolate or cake, or whatever naughty treat the nearest Costa has in store for you, grab an apple and start eating. Without even realising it, your body will be tricked into enjoying the sensation of 'sugar' entering your body. Eating lots of sugar can not only cause potential weight gain and impact physical health in a negative way, but it can also cause you to become sluggish and cause sugar crashes. What's more is eating an apple is equivalent to having half a cup of coffee - so not only is it good for your body but also keeps your mind alert!
